Benefits:
Position Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner conducts psychiatric assessments,provides ongoing psychiatric consultation, and oversees medication management/ treatment ofmental health disorders for clients enrolled in outpatient treatment for substance use disorders.
Essential Functions:
• Complete Psychiatric Evaluation for each client at time of admission to assess mentalhealth, identify and diagnosis present co-occurring disorder(s), and determine appropriatecourse of psychiatric treatment for diagnosed conditions during outpatient treatment.
• Follow-up with individual clients at least one time monthly, or more frequently asindicated, for ongoing assessment of clients’ psychiatric stability, treatment progress, andcurrent medication effectiveness; Adjust the client's treatment plan as needed.
• Educate the client on medications and potential medication side effects.
• Obtain medical and substance use history, particularly as it relates to the presentcondition, from client, medical staff, and clinical staff.
• Abide by laws, regulations, and standards of practice regarding Confidentiality andEthics for the provision of treatment under the scope of license and certification.
• Conduct peer reviews with managed care companies when needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing psychopharmacological management.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation of all client interactions, evaluations,medication changes, and any other events related to client’s psychiatric treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team to promote team approach to clientcare; Educate staff on best practices in the management of co-occurring disorders.
• Propose, develop, and implement best practices in psychiatric care delivery under thedirection of Medical Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Infection Control Officer.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current, Valid CRNP or ARNP License in the State of Georgia.
• Qualified to obtain prescriptive authority in the State of Georgia
• CPR/ First Aid Certified.
• Previous experience in addiction treatment setting or with treatment of co-occurringmental health and substance use disorders preferred.
• Excellent Professional References.
Skills/ Competencies:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish rapport with clients from various backgrounds.
• Organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Critical thinking skills; Ethical decision-making abilities.
