About the Role:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Aspire Senior Living, you will work closely with our occupational therapists to develop and implement customized treatment plans for our residents. You will assist in the delivery of occupational therapy services, including exercises, activities, and educational programs designed to improve the daily living skills and overall well-being of our residents.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities:
• Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans for residents
• Provide one-on-one and group occupational therapy sessions to residents, including exercises, activities, and educational programs
• Conduct initial and progress assessments of residents to evaluate their needs and progress
• Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of resident therapy sessions
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for residents
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and contribute to the development of individualized care plans
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Requirements:
Must be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Previous experience in a long-term care setting or similar environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with older adults and their families
