Summary
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a culture of health and safety across job sites by assisting in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies, programs, and procedures. This role conducts regular inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations. The position also facilitates safety training, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with site teams and management to identify and mitigate risks. A key objective is to proactively enhance workplace safety through education, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with site teams to develop and implement effective workplace safety programs.
- Perform routine safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to ensure adherence to company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the investigation of workplace incidents by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
- Ensure organizational compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry-specific safety standards.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of safety incidents, training activities, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Partner with management to establish and uphold safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Organize and conduct emergency response drills; ensure employee preparedness through ongoing training and communication of emergency protocols.
- Identify, recommend, and implement proactive safety initiatives to mitigate workplace hazards.
- Continuously monitor and integrate evolving industry regulations and best practices to enhance overall safety performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of EHS experience in construction or industrial environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI requirements
- Experience supporting multi-employer worksites
- Ability to conduct site inspections, JHAs, and incident investigations
- Strong communication and enforcement skills in field environments
- OSHA 30-Hour (Construction) required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work in active construction areas and wear required PPE
