VEIN AND ARTERY SURGICAL CONSULTANTS215 N San Saba Ste 206  San Antonio TX 78207Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Vascular Surgery & Wound CarePosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our growing vascular surgery practice in San Antonio. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who enjoys developing long-term patient relationships while working closely with vascular surgeons.Previous vascular experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with backgrounds in cardiology, nephrology/dialysis, wound care, interventional radiology, surgery, or other related specialties are encouraged to apply. The right candidate will receive support and training to develop expertise in the evaluation and management of patients with vascular disease.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform new patient and follow-up evaluations.Obtain comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations.Hospital roundingEvaluate patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), venous disease, and dialysis-access conditions.Review vascular ultrasound studies, diagnostic testing, laboratory results, and imaging.Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with vascular surgeons.Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care.Manage and monitor postoperative wounds and surgical recovery.Evaluate dialysis-access patients, including AV fistulas and AV grafts.Identify patients requiring additional diagnostic testing or procedural intervention.Provide patient and family education regarding vascular disease, risk-factor modification, procedures, and postoperative care.Coordinate care with dialysis centers, nephrologists, wound-care providers, primary-care physicians, podiatrists, hospitalist, and other referring providers.Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, medical assistants, ultrasound technologists, and administrative team members.Qualifications• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Texas.• Current national Nurse Practitioner certification.• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.• Excellent communication and patient-education skills.• Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with physicians.• Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty practice.• Interest in developing expertise in vascular disease and vascular patient management.Preferred Clinical Background• Vascular surgery• Cardiology or cardiovascular medicine• Nephrology or dialysis• Wound care• Interventional radiology• General surgery or other surgical specialties• Acute-care or hospital-based medicine Vascular experience is preferred but not required.
