Job Description
The Elms Center is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Director to lead our Maintenance Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for residents, employees, and visitors.
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance and physical plant operations of the facility, including preventative maintenance, repairs, life-safety systems, regulatory compliance, grounds, and supervision of the maintenance team.
What You'll DoDirect and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department
Maintain the facility, equipment, grounds, and building systems in safe and proper working condition
Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
Complete and oversee maintenance work orders in a timely manner
Perform and supervise general repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and other building maintenance
Conduct routine inspections of the building, equipment, resident areas, and grounds
Maintain required maintenance, inspection, and regulatory documentation
Coordinate inspections, testing, repairs, and preventative maintenance of life-safety systems
Work with outside contractors and vendors as needed
Obtain estimates and coordinate facility projects and repairs
Assist with room preparation, furniture moves, and facility projects
Oversee seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice management
Participate in emergency preparedness planning and drills
Work collaboratively with facility leadership and other departments
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents
Previous maintenance experience required; healthcare, skilled nursing, senior living, or similar facility experience strongly preferred
Previous supervisory or Maintenance Director experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance and repair
Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance
Knowledge of life-safety and healthcare regulatory requirements preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and work orders
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team
