Job Summary

Community Clinic is seeking a bilingual Patient Coordinator for our Dental Practice in Springdale, AR. The Patient Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients within the Clinic, providing a cordial greeting and ensuring the patient’s needs are met in an effective, positive way. This position is part-time, fully in person with a schedule of  Monday - Wednesday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and will travel to our Rogers Dental location PRN to ensure front desk coverage. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Provides exceptional customer service during all aspects of a patient visit to the Community Clinic.
  • Ensures patient information is entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and updated regularly for all patients
  • Coordinates with Patient financial Services on required patient information in the EMR, payments and insurance inquiries.
  • Scheduled patient appointments appropriately, based on patient needs, provider requests and approve scheduling guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment to ensure the professional appearance of the Clinic at all times.
  • Keeps management team informed of all activities and on goings in the medical clinic.
  • Ensures that community Clinic will not cause or allow any organizational practice, activity, decision or circumstance which is unlawful imprudent, and negligent, contrary to mission, vision or policies or in violation of commonly accepted nonprofit or professional ethics.
  • With respect to the treatment of users, our clinic's staff may not cause or allow conditions, procedures, or decisions that are unfair, unsafe, and undignified, discriminatory or preferential, or fail to provide appropriate confidentiality.
  • Ensures that community Clinic protects ou IRS tax-exempt status (501(c)(3) at all times.
  • Ability to travel for activities such as meetings, classes and workshops. Must be able to travel by air as neeed to attend training conferences, and related activities, including overnight travel
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Obtains vital signs, measurements and laboratory tests accurately, as per protocol.
  • Obtains chief complaint and reason for visit using excellent listening skills.
  • Administers medications via injection. 
  • Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness for optimal efficiency.
  • Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
  • Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.  


Skills

  • Ability to perform cash, check and credit card payment transactions with accuracy. 
  • Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds. 
  • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
  • Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Spanish/English or Marshallese/English bilingual ability required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service experience
