Firewall / Network Architecture Reviewer

Description:

Position Summary

Analyzes firewall configurations, access rules, and overall network/security architecture for County departments, identifying vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and staff skills gaps relative to current IT security practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Review firewall diagnostics, rule sets, and configurations for security gaps.

• Evaluate network segmentation and overall security architecture against best practices.

• Assess IT security staffing and skills gaps, quantifying time spent on security matters and shared IT/security responsibilities.

Requirements:

  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of network security architecture or firewall review experience.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, or equivalent certification.

• Experience conducting IT security staffing/skills-gap assessments.

Travel

Fully remote; must remain within the continental United States.
