Woburn, MA
Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic therapy team.
As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered treatment to individuals with physical and cognitive impairments. You will help patients improve their independence, functional abilities, and quality of life through individualized therapeutic activities and training.
ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day treatment to patients, including training in self-care, functional transfers, functional ambulation, home living skills, perceptual and cognitive activities, strengthening, balance, and coordination.
Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines and facility staff to promote effective interdisciplinary care.
Document treatment plans, patient progress, and treatment changes accurately and in a timely manner.
Supervise rehabilitation and restorative aides regarding patient treatments, range-of-motion activities, restorative feeding groups, and patient positioning.
Record and submit required documentation and treatment charges according to facility policies and procedures.
Complete discharge documentation, including FIMS, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations.
Follow established treatment plans and provide services under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
Promote patient safety, independence, dignity, and quality of life throughout the rehabilitation process.
Current Massachusetts state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Must comply with applicable state, federal, and AOTA standards of practice.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic and cooperative therapy team.
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality patient care.
Previous experience is not required.
