Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and current ARRT-R, ACLS, and BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.
Details
- Diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting
- Patient population includes chest pain, NSTEMI, A.Fib/Flutter, ACS, and pulmonary HTN cases
- Procedures include LHC, RHC, pacemaker insertion, pacemaker generator change, and loop implantation
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses GE Mac Lab, GE Innova IGS, contrast power injector, Philips cardiac monitor, Bovie CONMED injector, and Zoll defibrillator
- Utilizes Epic EMR and Omnicell medication system
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Required to float to other units and campuses per facility policy based on qualifications and competencies
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent cath lab experience required
- BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R, and SCRQSA certification required; license required if applicable
- ARRT-CV or RCIS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, sterile field maintenance, and access site prep
- Experience with left and right heart catheterization, permanent pacemaker insertion, and PA line insertion required
- Ability to recognize and interpret life-threatening arrhythmias and dysrhythmias
- Prior travel experience required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, accurate monitoring, scrub procedures, and maintaining sterile technique
- Perform diagnostic catheterizations, cardiac implant closure device procedures, electrophysiology studies, cardioversion, and tilt table studies
- Follows isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and infection control standards
- Maintains equipment and inventory, stocks supplies, and utilizes PACS system
- Weekly orientation and annual compliance training required
- First-time travelers not currently being considered for this role
