2027 Internship - Quality Test Engineering - Lutz, FL

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer Intern supports the Quality Management System (QMS) and product quality assurance activities for commercial and defense flight simulation training devices. This role is adapted from the Test Engineer function but focused on quality oversight, audit support, test verification, and data integrity, rather than test execution. The intern contributes to ensuring simulators meet:

  • ISO 9001 QMS requirements
  • FAA Part 60 / EASA CS-FSTD qualification expectations
  • Customer and program requirements

The QE Intern works under supervision while gaining exposure to verification & validation (V&V), acceptance testing, discrepancy management, and audit processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Program Quality Support
  2. Support development and review of:
  3. Quality Requirements
  4. Quality Assurance Plans (QAP)
  5. Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Operational Test Methods (OTM)
  6. Assist in reviewing:
  7. Performance specifications
  8. Test procedures for completeness and quality compliance
  9. Support:
  10. Test planning meetings
  11. Program reviews and quality readiness activities
  12. Help ensure alignment between requirements, verification and validation methods, and acceptance criteria
  13. Test & Product Quality Support
  14. Support execution of test activities by:
  15. Assisting with test setup and documentation
  16. Observing simulator acceptance testing and qualification events
  17. Verifying that procedures are followed correctly
  18. Assist with:
  19. Data collection and verification of configuration baselines
  20. Basic analysis of test results against expected criteria
  21. Document:
  22. Discrepancies and nonconformances during testing
  23. Support generation of:
  24. Test report and summaries
  25. Quality & Continuous Improvement
  26. Assist with:
  27. Root cause analysis (RCA)
  28. Tracking and closure of discrepancy reports (DRs/NCRs)
  29. Support:
  30. Failure investigations
  31. Data-driven quality improvements
  32. Participate in:
  33. Process improvement initiatives
  34. Procedure and workflow updates
  35. Help analyze:
  36. Trends in defects, test failures, or recurring issues
  37. QMS & Audit Support
  38. Support internal audits of:
  39. Design processes
  40. Test execution processes
  41. Manufacturing/integration activities
  42. Assist in:
  43. Collecting objective evidence
  44. Verifying document control
  45. Supporting CPAR tracking and closure
  46. Help ensure:
  47. Traceability between requirements, tests, and results
  48. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  49. Work with:
  50. Test Engineers
  51. Software/Systems Engineers
  52. Manufacturing and Integration teams
  53. Support coordination across:
  54. Program execution
  55. Test and acceptance readiness
  56. Quality reviews

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:

  • Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficiency in: Microsoft Excel, Word, Co-Pilot and basic data analysis methods
