Shop Technician / Automotive Helper

The Shop Worker / Automotive Helper is responsible for assisting with basic automotive services, keeping the shop organized, and supporting mechanics and the shop manager with daily operations. This position is ideal for someone dependable, hardworking, and interested in growing their automotive skills.

Core Duties

• Perform basic automotive services such as oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, tire repairs, and battery checks.

• Assist with mounting, balancing, and installing tires.

• Check and adjust tire pressure.

• Replace wiper blades, air filters, cabin filters, bulbs, and other basic maintenance items.

• Help mechanics by gathering tools, parts, and supplies needed for repairs.

• Move vehicles safely in and out of service bays and parking areas.

• Clean vehicles as needed before customer pickup.

• Keep the shop, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

• Dispose of used oil, tires, filters, and shop materials properly.

• Restock fluids, supplies, tires, and commonly used items as directed.

• Notify the manager when inventory, supplies, or tools are running low.

• Follow all safety procedures when using lifts, tools, and shop equipment.

• Enter or update basic job notes in Tekmetricas directed.

• Assist the manager and mechanics with daily workflow as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be dependable, willing to learn, able to follow instructions, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. Basic automotive knowledge is preferred but not required. A valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate customer vehicles are preferred.
