Qualifications:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting our regulatory product safety initiatives by maintaining plant cleanliness, conducting deep cleaning, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment throughout our facility.
- Perform daily janitorial duties in production areas, offices, and common spaces.
- Complete daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning tasks as outlined by product safety guidelines.
- Conduct deep cleaning of production lines to meet product safety standards.
- Maintain and manage janitorial and cleaning supply inventories.
- Perform routine groundskeeping to promote a clean and safe environment.
- Inspect pest control traps weekly and report any missing or damaged traps.
- Operate the scissor lift to remove cobwebs, dust, and debris from high areas, ceilings, fans, and lighting.
- Assist with room setups for meetings and events, including cleaning before and after use.
- Use a pressure washer to clean exterior areas such as bay doors, sidewalks, and building surfaces.
- Perform light facility maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, minor touch-up painting, and reporting larger issues.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager with product safety-related tasks.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
- Frequent exposure to dust, dirt, grease, loud noise, and moving machinery.
- Frequent work around chemicals (polymers), electrical/mechanical hazards, and at heights.
- Frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent exposure to hot/cold temperatures, wet or humid conditions, and outdoor weather.
- Occasional ladder use and balancing at elevated heights.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working at heights using equipment such as scissor lifts or ladders.
- Ability to safely perform tasks in elevated areas (ceilings, rafters, platforms).
