Precision Manual Machinist

We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone who is highly skilled with conventional machining equipment and takes pride in producing accurate, tight-tolerance components.

The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, interpreting detailed drawings, and making adjustments to ensure finished parts meet exact specifications.

Position Responsibilities

• Operate conventional mills and engine lathes to produce precision parts
• Set up machines and select appropriate tooling for each job
• Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions
• Take accurate measurements throughout the machining process
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment
• Determine appropriate speeds, feeds, and cutting methods based on material and application
• Monitor machining operations and troubleshoot equipment or process issues
• Make necessary adjustments to achieve required dimensions and tolerances
• Inspect completed components to verify quality and accuracy
• Maintain machines, tools, and a clean, organized work area
• Follow all safety and quality procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3+ years of hands-on manual machining experience
• Strong experience operating both manual mills and lathes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments
• Understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and different material properties
• Experience working with tight-tolerance or precision components
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent attention to detail
