Bakery Production associate

Tora Bakery Co. is expanding!

We are looking for a disciplined, detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our Harlingen central kitchen. You will work directly with the Founder to produce our signature cookies, Basque cheesecakes, and our new bakery line.

​This is a "hands-on" role. You are the engine that keeps our Brownsville and Harlingen stores stocked, retail ready vendors and our customers happy.

​Key Responsibilities

• ​Scaling & Mixing: Accurately weighing dry ingredients for our cookies, cheesecakes and Boba Bites using industrial scales.
• ​Baking : Operating commercial ovens to meet daily production quotas for our two retail locations.
• ​Packaging: Using heat sealers and automatic pouch fillers to package our goods for local retailers.
• ​Sanitation: Maintaining a "Retail-Ready" clean kitchen. This includes deep-cleaning equipment and following strict food safety protocols.
• ​Inventory: Assisting the Founder in tracking ingredient levels and alerting when supplies are low.

​Requirements

• ​Reliability: You must have dependable transportation to the Harlingen kitchen.
• ​Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs (flour bags/mixing bowls).
• ​Precision: You must be able to follow a recipe to the gram. Consistency is our #1 priority.
• ​Certifications: Valid Food Handler’s Card (ServSafe preferred).
• ​Experience: 1–2 years in a commercial kitchen, bakery, or food manufacturing environment is a plus.
