Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Location: Hawley, PA
Job Type: Full-time, Mon–Fri (No weekends/nights)
Salary Range: $16.50 – $21.50 per hour (Depending on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-centered Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing healthcare team in Hawley, PA. In this role, you will provide both clinical and administrative support to our primary care providers, ensuring a seamless and high-quality care experience for our patients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong team player, and deeply committed to community health.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare them for the practitioner.
- Vitals & Documentation: Measure and record accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight) within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers with routine clinical examinations, diagnostic testing, and minor outpatient procedures.
- Lab Duties: Perform basic laboratory tasks, including routine blood draws (phlebotomy), administering immunizations/inoculations, and performing EKGs.
- Specimen Management: Safely collect, label, track, and route lab specimens according to standard infection control protocols.
- Medication Reconciliation: Complete basic medication and allergy reconciliations during every patient visit.
- Room & Supply Upkeep: Clean, sanitize, and stock patient examination rooms daily; monitor clinical inventory to alert management when supplies run low.
- Administrative Duties: Answer phone calls, manage patient scheduling, handle portal inquiries, and manage compliance tracking as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) via the AAMA, or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) via the NHA.
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency and hands-on experience navigating Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic or primary care setting is highly preferred, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, dedication to patient privacy (HIPAA compliance), and strong problem-solving capabilities.
