Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in hospital settings by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical devices are properly sterilized and maintained for patient safety. This position works independently, primarily during the day shift, and involves direct collaboration with clinical staff to support effective healthcare delivery.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Nights 4x10-Hour (23:00 - 9:00)

Charting: Epic - Required

Responsibilities

• Perform instrument sterilization and disinfection procedures
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies and surgical instruments
• Conduct sterility testing and maintain quality control standards
• Keep accurate records of sterilization cycles and supply usage
• Handle medical supplies and ensure proper storage
• Dispose of waste according to facility protocols
• Collaborate directly with clinical staff to meet surgical needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile processing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
• Familiarity with IAHCSMM/HSPA standards
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control
• Experience in medical instrument handling and quality assurance
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
