Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Personal Banker to join our banking team. The Personal Banker will be responsible for building strong client relationships, identifying customer financial needs, recommending appropriate banking products and services, and supporting daily branch operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers with day-to-day banking needs.
Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts.
Educate clients on bank products and services, including checking, savings, CDs, credit cards, online banking, mobile banking, and lending solutions.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate financial products.
Process account transactions accurately and in compliance with bank policies.
Assist customers with account questions, service issues, and problem resolution.
Support branch sales goals through relationship-building and referral activity.
Refer clients to appropriate partners for mortgage, lending, investment, or business banking needs.
Maintain knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, fraud prevention, and security procedures.
Handle confidential customer information with professionalism and discretion.
Participate in branch outreach, customer retention, and business development efforts.
Ensure all account documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
Provide support to teller line or branch operations as needed.
Qualifications
Previous banking, financial services, retail sales, or customer service experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to identify customer needs and offer appropriate solutions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Comfortable working with banking systems, Microsoft Office, and digital banking tools.
Ability to meet sales, service, and referral goals.
Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Knowledge of banking products, lending basics, and compliance regulations preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience opening consumer and business accounts.
Knowledge of deposit products, loan products, and digital banking platforms.
Cash-handling or teller experience.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
