Job description:
The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing daily outbound shipping operations and ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position supervises shipping employees, coordinates with carriers and warehouses, and maintains accurate shipping documentation.
Key Responsibilities
· Assign daily tasks and work schedules to shipping employees based on order volume and priorities.
· Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and within required deadlines.
· Review shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, delivery orders, shipping labels, and proof of delivery records.
· Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers, parcel carriers, third-party warehouses, and internal departments.
· Monitor shipment status and communicate delays, shortages, damages, or delivery issues to the appropriate departments.
· Coordinate appliance shipments, customer deliveries, transfers, returns, replacements, and damaged-product claims.
· Investigate shipping errors, missing products, incorrect shipments, and freight damage.
· Maintain accurate shipping records and ensure documents are properly filed and uploaded into the company system (Odoo System).
· Coordinate with Customer Service, Sales, Inventory, Warehouse, and Accounting teams to resolve shipment-related issues.
· Prepare daily and weekly shipping reports, productivity records, and shipment summaries.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 1-3 years of shipping, logistics, or distribution experience.
· Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in a shipping or warehouse environment is preferred.
· Experience coordinating with freight carriers, parcel carriers, and third-party logistics warehouses.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipping accuracy.
· Ability to communicate effectively with employees, carriers, customers, and internal departments.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
