Customer Service Clerk

Assists diverse callers and visitors by resolving inquiries, processing transactions, and bridging language barriers.

Job Overview

• Role Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Temporary
• Primary Goal: Provide clear, accurate, and empathetic assistance to customers or the public in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole.
• Work Environment: Office, call center, or remote/work-from-home.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Communication: Answer inbound phone calls, greet visitors, or respond to chats and emails in English and either Spanish or Haitian Creole.
• Interpretation & Translation: Translate basic documents, forms, FAQs, or verbal conversations to help non-English speakers complete standard processes.
• Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately log customer interactions, updates, and account notes into internal databases or CRM software. [1, 2]
• Transaction Processing: Handle routine applications, scheduling, billing inquiries, or service requests according to agency or company guidelines. [1, 2]
• Problem Solving: Diagnose customer concerns and route complex issues or escalations to the correct department. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Requirements

• Language Fluency: Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of customer service, administrative, or call center experience preferred.
