Polysomnography Technician – Columbia City, Indiana


Our client is seeking a dedicated Polysomnography Technician to join their Sleep Disorders Lab in Whitley. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to work with patients experiencing sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities while utilizing diagnostic sleep-testing equipment in a clinical environment.


The Polysomnography Technician will perform sleep studies, score polysomnographic records, evaluate patients for sleep-related disorders, maintain and calibrate testing equipment, complete required documentation, and support the clinical and operational needs of the Sleep Disorders Center.


This is a full-time, 36-hour/week overnight position, with a schedule of 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM.

This position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform polysomnography testing on patients with sleep disorders.
  • Score polysomnographic records according to established guidelines.
  • Evaluate patients for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities, including seizure disorders and narcolepsy.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of sleep-testing equipment.
  • Complete clinical documentation and clerical duties required for Sleep Disorders Center operations.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Provide compassionate patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.


Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program; or
  • Completion of the A-STEP Program through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; or
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Experience

  • 1 year of experience working as a Polysomnographer preferred.
  • 6 months of experience working with pediatric patient populations preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • RPSGT credential through the BRPT, SDS credential through the NBRC, or RST credential through the American Board of Sleep Medicine required.
  • Candidates who do not hold the RPSGT, RST, or SDS credential must:
    • Be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC.
    • Be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCPC) by the IPLA.
    • Pass the RPSGT, RST, or SDS examination within one year of becoming eligible to sit for the exam.
  • Current Basic CPR certification required.
