About the Role

As a Field Services Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting battery energy storage systems and associated electrical equipment across customer sites in the Amarillo area.

You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime and extending asset life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on BESS, inverters, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, functional testing, and condition monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and identify root causes.
  • Read electrical schematics and use test equipment, including multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Perform component replacements, minor repairs, and general maintenance using hand and power tools.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Use CMMS or digital maintenance systems to receive work orders and document completed maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and asset maintenance records.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to equipment alarms or site issues, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the Amarillo region.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to communicate equipment status and escalate complex technical issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance on electrical or industrial equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and working with test instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of LOTO and industrial safety procedures.
  • Experience using a CMMS or digital maintenance platform.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a field environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and traveling between multiple customer sites.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with BESS, battery storage systems, inverters, or power electronics.
  • Experience in utility-scale, commercial, renewable energy, or power generation environments.
  • Familiarity with SCADA or remote monitoring systems.
  • Experience commissioning or upgrading battery systems, inverters, or related equipment.
  • Technical certificate or Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Basic mechanical skills, including equipment mounting, cabling, and installation.
