Mechanic Support Technician

Johnson Service Group is looking for a Mechanic Support Technician for one of our clients in San Jose. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional to gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, construction equipment, and dewatering equipment.

6-Month Contract

Pay: $34.92/hr

Responsibilities

• Provide Equipment Mechanic I-level support under management direction in the Class IV Shop.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of dewatering equipment, pumps, generators, trailers, small engines, vehicles, construction equipment, and related mechanical equipment.
• Perform routine repairs and safety inspections on gasoline and diesel engines and related systems, including fuel, electrical, hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, and drivetrain components.
• Safely handle and dispense fuel in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Assist with Class IV equipment check-out/check-in records and dewatering equipment requests.
• Support parts and inventory operations, including receiving, stocking, issuing, organizing, and tracking parts, materials, and equipment supplies.
• Maintain accurate equipment, maintenance, and inventory records.
• Follow established shop procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• One (1) year of experience performing repair and maintenance of vehicles or mechanical equipment.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle, equipment, and mechanical maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines, mechanical systems, and common hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs under management direction.
• Ability to safely handle fuel and follow established shop and safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately track parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to follow written instructions and service procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally with staff and vendors.
• Previous experience with pumps, generators, trailers, small engines, construction equipment, or dewatering equipment is a plus.

License

• Valid California Driver’s License
