Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Aluminum MIG Welder to join our fabrication team at a leading food equipment manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have experience welding aluminum components with precision and consistency, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and adherence to industry hygiene standards. You will be responsible for welding aluminum parts used in food-grade equipment, ensuring compliance with sanitary design principles and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding on aluminum components used in commercial food equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure welds meet required strength, appearance, and sanitary requirements.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including torches, clamps, and jigs.
  • Inspect welds and perform necessary grinding or finishing to ensure a clean, smooth surface.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work area in accordance with food industry standards.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and assembly teams to ensure product integrity.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, quality standards, and production timelines.
  • Document work completed and report any issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of MIG welding experience with aluminum (preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment).
  • Familiarity with sanitary welding and fabrication practices for food-grade equipment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Knowledge of proper welding safety procedures and PPE usage.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in the food equipment or sanitary fabrication industry.
  • TIG welding experience (bonus, not required).
  • AWS certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S workplace organization.
