Job Description
This role is a patient service center (PSC) phlebotomist position in a clinic setting, responsible for drawing patients’ blood, processing specimens, and supporting analytical testing. You will ensure accurate collection, receipt, and preparation of biological specimens, enter data into the laboratory information system, and help distribute samples to the appropriate testing areas while following established code of conduct and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures on patients in a clinic-based PSC environment.
- Collect and receive biological specimens and ensure they are properly labeled and documented upon entry into the department.
- Accurately enter specimen and patient information into the company’s computer system and maintain data integrity.
- Prepare specimens for analytical testing, including handling, processing, and organizing samples according to laboratory protocols.
- Distribute specimens to the appropriate analytical areas in a timely and accurate manner.
- Carry out specified analytical testing as assigned, following established procedures and quality standards.
- Manage both pre-analytical and post-analytical aspects of testing, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of specimens.
- Follow all applicable guidelines, policies, and code of conduct standards to maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Work collaboratively within a team of phlebotomists and clinic staff to support efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care.
- Provide professional and courteous patient care, explaining procedures and helping patients feel comfortable during specimen collection.
- At least 1 year of prior phlebotomy experience required; donor, plasma, and medical assistant phlebotomy experience do not qualify.
- Proficiency in blood draws and specimen collection in a clinical or laboratory setting.
- Experience with specimen processing, including preparation and handling for analytical testing.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and safely while providing attentive patient care.
- Comfort working as part of a team and collaborating with other phlebotomists and clinic staff.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to follow detailed laboratory protocols and pre- and post-analytical procedures.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter data into a laboratory information system.
- Laboratory experience in a patient service center or similar clinical environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated reliability and professionalism in following a code of conduct and organizational policies.
- Client prefers candidates who are not former employees for this project; rehires may be considered if they left more than 6 months ago on good terms, subject to an HR rehire check.

This position is based in a Flagstaff patient service center (PSC) located in a clinic setting, working alongside a team of phlebotomists. The schedule consists of Monday through Friday rotating 8-hour shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You will work with standard phlebotomy and laboratory equipment, handle biological specimens, and operate within a busy outpatient environment focused on patient care and efficient specimen processing. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.36/hr.
