Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Canaan, CT (Route 7 and Grace Way, Canaan, CT 06018)

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr + 10% shift differential
Shift: 7am-7pm (12 hour shift - M,T  ,F,S,S    W,T  )  

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate movement of products within the distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport palletized product within the distribution center (unload, put away, double-deep/bulk/full pallet pick, load, replenishment)
• Operate material handling equipment (MHE), including high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker
• Use RF scanner and WMS to track inventory and ensure accuracy
• Maintain product integrity throughout all tasks
• Follow site safety procedures, including required PPE (safety vest, safety shoes)
• Cross-train across other areas and provide backup support as needed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (1 year of relevant experience required in lieu of diploma/GED)
• Intermediate experience with high reach or counterbalance forklift required
• Manhattan WMS experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 2 days of start
• Ability to read/interpret distribution documents in English
• Basic computer, analytical, and organizational skills

Physical/Work Environment:

• Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motion
• Occasional lifting over 50 lbs in some areas
• Moderate to loud noise level; exposure to moving mechanical equipment
• May require a mandatory medical evaluation per BD's occupational health & safety obligations
