Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to support a manufacturing operation through a contract assignment. This is an ONSITE contract role in Northern Maine, Mars Hill, ME. This position will lead core HR activities that help maintain a productive workplace, including employee relations, benefits support, onboarding, payroll coordination, and day-to-day administration. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can balance compliance, employee support, and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily human resources operations and provide consistent support to employees and site leadership across the manufacturing facility.
• Guide employee relations matters by addressing workplace concerns, supporting investigations, and helping managers resolve issues fairly and effectively.
• Administer benefit programs, answer employee questions, and coordinate enrollments, updates, and related documentation.
• Manage onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring a smooth start, complete paperwork, and alignment with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS platforms and support data integrity, reporting, and routine system updates.
• Partner with payroll contacts to review employee changes, verify information, and help ensure timely and accurate pay processing.
• Support HR administration tasks such as policy communication, personnel file maintenance, compliance tracking, and workforce documentation.
• Work closely with site leadership to align HR practices with operational needs and foster a positive, accountable work environment.
• At least 5 years of human resources experience, including responsibility for employee relations and HR administration.• Background supporting HR functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of benefits administration, employee onboarding, and payroll processes.
• Experience using HRIS systems to manage employee data and produce accurate records.
• Strong understanding of employment practices, confidentiality standards, and workplace compliance expectations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-moving operational setting.
