Standard Job Description

The Assembler is responsible for the accurate and efficient assembly of aerospace components and sub-assemblies in accordance with industry standards (IPC-610, J-STD) and internal quality procedures. The role requires hands-on expertise with bonding, gasket installation, defect identification, and the use of SAP for production tracking. The successful candidate will act as a process instructor, support continuous-improvement initiatives, and collaborate closely with an integrated manufacturing team.

Core Responsibilities
Component Assembly
• Perform bonding, gasket installation, and component fit up per engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Operate and maintain assembly tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
Quality & Inspection
• Identify, evaluate, and document defects (visual, dimensional, functional) using IPC 610/J STD criteria.
• Conduct in process inspections and final verification; record results in SAP.
SAP & Documentation
• Create, update, and close work orders, inventory transactions, and production reports in SAP.
• Maintain accurate traceability records and inspection logs.
Process Instruction & Training
• Serve as a Process Instructor as needed - train new hires and cross train teammates on specific assembly techniques and quality requirements.
• Participate in the development and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Collaboration
• Work as part of an integrated production team, communicating status, issues, and improvement ideas to supervisors and engineers.
• Contribute to Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Compliance & Certification
• Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain current certifications in manufacturing operations and relevant industry standards.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience with bonding and gaskets.
- Ability to identify and evaluate defects.
- SAP and manufacturing skills and knowledge.
- Specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
-Demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team.

Desired Skills

IPC-610, J-STD or other industry standard manufacturing certification
- Process Instructor
- Certified in manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of defects in various areas

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $35600.00 - $66000.00
