Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for new and existing patients
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions across the lifespan
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans including psychopharmacology management
• Provide medication management, including prescribing and adjusting psychiatric medications as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with an integrated care team including therapists, physicians, and case managers
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies

Requirements:

• Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) board certification required
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Virginia
• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a psychiatric/mental health specialty
• Experience in psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health treatment
• DEA license and ability to prescribe controlled substances
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within an integrated, multidisciplinary care team
