Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Unit Assistant to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. If you're looking for a meaningful opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Unit Assistant, you'll support our nursing staff by helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment while assisting with non-clinical resident needs. Your contributions play an important role in enhancing our residents' comfort, dignity, and overall experience.

Schedule

Part-time

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Must be available to work every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Change linens on unoccupied beds.

• Organize and straighten residents' closets and drawers, and place personal belongings in storage baggies as needed.

• Escort and transport residents to and from the dining room, activities, and other designated areas.

• Assist with meal service by passing trays, serving in the dining room, opening containers, and setting up meal trays.

• Distribute ice water, hydration, snacks, and towels.

• Assist with and help lead scheduled unit activities.

• Respond promptly to call lights and notify a CNA or Charge Nurse when assistance is needed.

• Provide one-on-one visits with residents and assist with attendance during activities.

• Perform other non-direct care duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Possess a valid AZ fingerprint clearance card.

• Demonstrate a genuine interest in healthcare and providing compassionate service to older adults.

• Possess the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

• Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 25 pounds without assistance.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills are preferred.

• Dependable, organized, and committed to providing excellent resident support.
