Job SummaryTHRYVE Healthcare is seeking a motivated and driven Administrator in Training (AIT) to join our team and develop the skills necessary to become a successful Nursing Home Administrator. The AIT will work closely with experienced facility leadership and gain hands-on experience in all areas of skilled nursing facility operations, including clinical services, staffing, financial management, regulatory compliance, human resources, customer service, and quality improvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in a structured training program designed to prepare the AIT for a future Nursing Home Administrator role.
Work closely with the Administrator and department leaders to learn all aspects of skilled nursing facility operations.
Gain hands-on experience with facility budgets, financial performance, census management, and operational goals.
Develop an understanding of clinical operations, quality measures, staffing, and resident care.
Assist with recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and staff development.
Learn and support compliance with CMS, IDPH, OSHA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Participate in surveys, audits, and the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Participate in resident, family, and employee concerns and assist with resolution.
Develop strong relationships with residents, families, employees, physicians, vendors, and community partners.
Participate in care plan meetings, leadership meetings, and interdisciplinary team activities.
Learn the admissions, discharge, and referral processes and their impact on facility operations.
Assist department heads in establishing goals, monitoring performance, and improving department operations.
Support efforts to improve resident satisfaction, employee engagement, quality outcomes, and overall facility performance.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Administrator.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Services, or a related field preferred.
Current or completed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA/LNHA) AIT program or eligibility to participate in an Illinois-approved AIT program.
Previous managerial or supervisory experience within a skilled nursing facility (SNF/LTC) is required.
Experience managing staff, departments, or day-to-day operations within a skilled nursing environment strongly preferred.
Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, healthcare, or a related environment.
Strong interest in pursuing a career as a Nursing Home Administrator.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with residents, families, employees, and interdisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory compliance preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare/administrative systems.
