Automotive General Manager - Now Hiring

A well-established Import Automotive Dealership in the Hampton / Newport News area is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead dealership operations and drive the next stage of growth.

This is an opportunity for a proven automotive executive who knows how to build strong teams, improve profitability, develop department leaders, and create a dealership culture where accountability and performance go hand in hand.

The right candidate will have the authority and support to lead the operation, make meaningful improvements, and directly influence the dealership's continued success.

Responsibilities:

• Lead overall dealership operations and financial performance
• Develop, coach, and hold department managers accountable for results
• Drive sales volume, gross profit, expense control, and overall profitability
• Establish clear performance expectations and operating processes
• Monitor key dealership KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing managers and employees
• Maintain strong customer satisfaction and manufacturer relationships
• Work closely with ownership on dealership strategy, goals, and growth initiatives
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, compliance, and operational accountability 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Previous General Management experience at high-volume franchise dealership preferred; previous automotive management experience required
• Import experience preferred but not required
• Proven track record in automotive retail industry, including customer experience scores and market share performance
• Must have excellent leadership, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Exhibits a professional management style that sets the example for enthusiasm, productivity, and accountability
• Must be process oriented, well-disciplined and have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable driving record
