Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate (2nd Shift)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, plus OT

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 an hour, temp-to-hire

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Operations Manager

 

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing the daily inbound and outbound freight operations for a freight forwarding company. Must have Reach Truck experience.  This role ensures accurate handling, documentation, and movement of goods while maintaining compliance with company procedures and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing lists

Inspect freight for damage and report discrepancies or shortages promptly

Accurately label, sort, and store cargo in designated warehouse locations

Prepare outbound shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging freight for dispatch

Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure timely pickups and deliveries

Complete and maintain all required shipping and receiving documentation

Enter shipment data into warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or transportation management systems (TMS)

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, TSA (if applicable), and company policies

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed

Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (if certified)

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

1–3 years of shipping & receiving, warehouse, or freight forwarding experience preferred

Basic knowledge of logistics, freight documentation, and inventory processes

Experience with WMS/TMS systems is a plus

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Basic computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable attendance and punctuality for 2nd shift schedule

Reach Truck Experience is a MUST

Familiarity with domestic and international shipping processes

Experience working with freight forwarders, 3PLs, or distribution centers

 

Work Environment

Warehouse setting with moderate to heavy physical activity

Exposure to varying temperatures depending on facility

Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
