CNC Lathe Machinist

We are recruiting an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist for one of Rochester’s fastest-growing CNC machining companies. This is a first-shift opportunity within a new, modern facility producing precision components for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for precision production work
• Install and touch off tooling, set work offsets, and complete machine changeovers
• Load or edit existing programs and make adjustments at the machine
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Troubleshoot tooling, dimensional, finish, and machine-performance issues
• Read blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
• Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools
• Assist operators and less-experienced machinists when needed

Qualifications:

• CNC lathe setup and operating experience
• Ability to independently complete setups and changeovers
• Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills
• Comfortable making tool and work offsets
• Experience machining tight-tolerance components
• Fanuc experience is preferred
• Aerospace, defense, or medical machining experience is a plus
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
