Construction Laborer — Part-Time / Temporary

Pay: Starting at $18/hour
Hours: 10–40 hours/week (flexible/part-time)

Location: Jobs and shop located between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, TX — must be able to reliably get to sites in that area

About the role

We're a small local shop taking on a mix of shop and site projects — currently building a shed, a metal pergola, and a deck, with more shop and on-site work likely down the road. We're looking for a reliable laborer to help with both bench work in the shop and hands-on construction at job sites across the Hill Country.

No experience required — we'll teach you what you need to know. All tools are provided.

How work is scheduled

This isn't a fixed shift job. Work is coordinated by text or call as jobs come up, so you'll need to be reachable and able to show up on relatively short notice when we need you.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with framing, decking, and general carpentry
• Helping fabricate and assemble metal structures (pergola work)
• Site prep, material handling, loading/unloading, and cleanup
• General labor support in the shop — cutting, sanding, moving material, keeping the space organized
• Following directions from the lead on-site or in the shop, and asking questions when unsure

What we're looking for

• Reliable transportation and able to travel to job sites between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, TX
• Responsive to text/call and able to show up when work is scheduled
• Comfortable doing physical work outdoors and lifting up to 60 lbs
• Works well as part of a small team
• Punctual, safety-conscious, and takes direction well

Nice to have (not required)

• Any prior experience with carpentry, welding, or general construction
• Basic familiarity with hand and power tools
