FedEx Delivery Driver - Must Have Driving Experience in Previous Job

Position Overview

Start at the FedEx terminal and deliver and pick-up packages in the Oro Valley and Twin Peaks area.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate a Step-Van that is anywhere from 20-25ft long and 7ft wide.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Deliver an average of 140 stops and 160 packages daily to businesses and residential areas.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
• Navigate using a cellular device/scanner and use a cellphone for cross-reference if map is not accurate.
• Abide by dispatch instructions and communicate with Business Contacts as required, including but not limited to; assisting other drivers, delays, alternate pickups, alternate deliveries.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and have no felonies for driving within the last 3-years.
• Must have Business Driving Experience in the last 3-years, or have 5-years of Business Driving Experience in the last 10 years if you have a CDL.
• Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete ALL required training given by the employer and management.
• Ability to lift/carry packages up to 50 pounds several times a week.
• Ability to operate a hand-truck/dolly for heavier packages.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time inside of a step-van and get in and out with packages up to 149.99lbs with use of a dolly.

Driving Conditions

• Trucks DO NOT have A/C.
• Travel to and from Oro valley on the Freeway.
• Trucks vibrate and are loud, they are made of sheet metal.
• Exposure to dust, drivers are provided with masks if requested.
