???? What You’ll Do

As a Build Lead, you’ll oversee equipment builds, support technicians, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to PowerBuilt quality standards.

You’ll:

• Assembly of custom engineered tools by utilizing:
  • Assembly drawings
  • Pneumatic & electrical schematics
  • E-drawings
  • Assigned technicians
  • Build schedules
• Professional cross-departmental communication
• Communicating resources needed to maintain and manage build schedule
• Testing/troubleshooting custom tools for functionality prior to buyoff/shipment
• Punch-list management: pre-buyoff & pre-shipment
• Completing formal quality checks
• Preparing shipments by utilizing the bill of materials & assisting with building shipping crates
• Maintain a clean work area/appearance
• Communicating any issues, delays, and overages to the appropriate departments
• Lead customer buyoffs at PowerBuilt
• Install, route, label, and terminate low-voltage control wiring and electrical components according to electrical drawings and schematics
• Wire control panels, junction boxes, sensors, switches, and other low-voltage control devices
• Install conduit, wireway, cable tray, and other electrical raceways as required
• Perform point-to-point wiring and verify connections against electrical schematics
• Use electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, to test circuits and identify wiring issues
• Troubleshoot electrical and low-voltage control systems during assembly, testing, and commissioning
• Assist with commissioning and startup of custom-engineered equipment
• Identify and correct wiring errors, faulty components, and other electrical issues prior to customer buyoff
• Maintain proper wire labeling, cable management, and workmanship standards
• Redline electrical drawings and communicate required changes or discrepancies to the appropriate engineering personnel
• Work closely with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, and Fabrication to resolve build issues
• Follow applicable electrical, safety, and company standards when installing and testing equipment
• Assist with training and directing assigned technicians on electrical assembly and wiring tasks

Requirements:

• Mechanical knowledge
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical systems and low-voltage controls
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits using a multimeter and other basic electrical testing equipment
• Experience with control panel wiring, electrical components, or industrial equipment preferred
• Experience with conduit, wire routing, cable management, and electrical terminations preferred
• Leadership Experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• High school or equivalent education
• Provide your own hand tools (PowerBuilt provides all power tools needed)
• Ability to travel up to 5–10% (on an “as needed” basis)
• Time management
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively with engineers, project managers, and other trades
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify practical solutions
• Ability to work from electrical drawings and follow wiring instructions with minimal supervision
• Comfort working around machinery, electrical equipment, and on active equipment builds

???? What We’re Looking For

Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience
Experience leading equipment builds or production teams
Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
Understanding of pneumatic systems and mechanical fitment
Basic familiarity with PLC field devices, sensors, I/O blocks, and automation hardware
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering documentation
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Leadership mindset with willingness to coach and support others
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred:

Experience with conveyors, lift assists, robotics integration, or custom automation systems
Previous experience coordinating contractors or technicians
Forklift and rigging experience is a plus
