About the Role
We're a small, growing laboratory looking for an Accounting Specialist to own our day-to-day financial operations. This is a full-cycle role, you'll be the person who keeps our books accurate, organized, and audit-ready. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants full ownership of a company's finances and the chance to grow into a larger role as we expand our customer base.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Invoice customers and track collections
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts monthly
- Process payroll and related filings
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Track expenses and support budgeting/forecasting as we grow
- Prepare documentation for quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Maintain organized, compliant financial records and internal controls
- Identify process improvements as transaction volume increases
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (small business experience a plus)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and comfort working independently
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (not required with equivalent experience)
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or lab billing a plus.
- Someone who's excited to grow with a small company and take on more responsibility over time
