We are currently seeking a dedicated 340B Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team and take a leading role in supporting our 340B Drug Pricing Program. Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Combination of education, knowledge, skills, mental development, and relevant experience that enable performing essential functions of the position.
- Pharmacist Technician License in the state of Illinois.
- Knowledge of 340B Drug program.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a pharmacy
- A thorough knowledge about drugs (brand name, generic name, dosage forms, strengths, routes of administration and drug’s therapeutic classification). Advanced computer skills are required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for utilizing the Split-billing software program to its full capacity for effective management of 340B drug utilization
- Ensures 340B Program Coordination in accordance with HRSA’s program requirements.
- Ensures proper inventory management of 340B medications: procurement, distribution and charges
- Works with pharmacy Director to ensure 340B policies and procedures are developed and implemented according to state, and federal 340B requirements and guidelines
- Provides ongoing training, education, and updates required for the 340B Program at the organization.
- Collaborates with the Prime Vendor Program, pharmacy leadership, and 340B Health institutions to determine the most appropriate use of the 340B Program
- Ensures preparation for and completion of annual HRSA registration/recertification for parent entity and child sites, within the allowable time frame.
- Develops, executes, and documents self-audits of the 340B process. Coordinates and ensures remediation of findings. Conducts monthly audits of all 340B-eligible locations to verify adherence with the 340B program. Conducts and/or coordinates an annual audit of all contract pharmacies. Documents results and follow- up on any findings.
- Responsible for managing and troubleshooting pharmacy billing issues and ensuring that adequate systems checks are reviewed to prevent billing issues.
- Monitors utilization records and 340B purchasing accounts to ensure that software or tools are working properly and accurately, performing audits or compliance assessments internally as needed; coordinates external compliance assessments with outside firms, where appropriate, to validate internal processes.
- Perform essential duties and functions of a Pharmacy technician as described in the policy for Pharmacy technician position.
- Build and update Meditech PHA medication dictionaries as needed.
