CARPENTER-ASSISTANT and/or LEAD CARPENTER

We are seeking both a Construction Assistant AND a Lead Carpenter to become part of our team! Your first project will be a 130-year-old restoration project in downtown Wilmington. On Site free parking available.

Construction Asistant Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation and repair of existing residential remodel components.
• Be willing and able to accept directions from the lead carpenter and site superintendent.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Perform Framing, Finish and structural modifications as necessary, as directed.
• Performing work in other trades, such as plumbing, HVAC, concrete and electric is a bonus but not required.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• OSHA Certifications, Construction Qualifier number, or other attained certifications will be reviewed and may add to the compensation package.

LEAD CARPENTER Responsibilities:

• Perform the installation and modifications to an existing House or Commercial Site.
• Have full knowledge of Building and Construction codes and practices.
• Be willing and able to take the tasks at hand and perform without direct supervision. We are seeking an individual who can perform carpenter tasks and be able forecast supply needs without direction. i.e. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construct as drawn, and/or provide site adjustments as necessary.
• Be able to use an IPAD, LAPTOP or other electronic devices. We use Bluebeam for access to the blueprints, and using electronic aids is a must.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Perform Framing, Finish and structural modifications as necessary, as directed.
• Performing work in other trades, such as plumbing, HVAC, concrete and electric is a bonus but not required.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Direct your assistant as necessary for an efficient installation.
• OSHA Certifications, Construction Qualifier number, or other attained certifications will be reviewed and may add to the compensation package

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Only candidates with great desire in preciseness need apply.
• MUST have experience with the use of small hand tools including a skill saw, roto hammer, compound miter saw, nail gun and such.
• MUST have full knowledge and ability to use levels, tape measure, transit, etc.
• MUST be able to read and understand blueprints for all trades.
• Previous experience in residential and/or commercial construction and remodeling is a must.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards dealing with tools and field safety.
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Ability to work well in teams
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
