Pay - $28 - $30/hr Flexible Depending on Experience
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of The Bradley Group's plastic film production equipment. This role performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance on extrusion lines, CNC and Manual Lathe machines, laminators, slitters, rewinders, web handling systems, roll to roll machinery, and other converting machinery used in flexible packaging and film manufacturing. The technician ensures minimal downtime, rapid response to equipment issues, and consistent production quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain extrusion equipment, CNC and Manual Lathe machines, laminators, slitters, rewinders, web handling systems, roll to roll machinery, and wiring if ever needed.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using proper tools and testing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
• Respond quickly to equipment failures and support production teams to ensure safe, timely repairs.
• Maintain and repair motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, heaters, chillers, and tension control systems.
• Inspect and maintain PLC controlled equipment, sensors, and automation components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new machinery and upgrades.
• Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, and calibrations to support production needs.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe machine operation.
• Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair notes in the CMMS system.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineering to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience; plastic films, flexible packaging, paper converting, extrusion, or plastics manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, bearings, and web handling equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
• Ability to weld, fabricate, or perform basic machining is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with production teams.
