Child Care Counselor

Child Care Counselors Needed!!!! Several long-term temporary, potential temporary to-hire positions, with various shifts available.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide active supervision of residents and maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment.
• Assist youth with daily living activities, including personal care, chores, meals, recreation, and routines.
• Support residents in following program expectations and individual treatment plans.
• Use approved behavior-management, crisis-intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
• Encourage positive behavior and an environment of respect.
• Escort residents to recreational, educational, medical, and therapeutic activities.
• Complete incident reports, behavioral documentation, and other required records accurately and promptly.
• Communicate concerns regarding residents' health, safety, or behavior to supervisors and appropriate staff.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment and report hazards or policy violations.
• Maintain professional relationships with residents, clinical team, coworkers, family members, and community partners.
• Protect resident confidentiality and follow all policies and procedures.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and staff-development programs.
• Be a role model and an inspiration to residents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work effectively with children in a residential environment.
• Strong communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
• Previous experience working with adolescents or in a residential treatment setting strongly preferred.
