Associate Attorney - Commercial Litigation
Established (45+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney for Business and Commercial Litigation matter in Boston, Massachusetts!
 
An established Boston law firm with over 45 years in practice is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its team in a hybrid capacity. 
 
Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this position will work on sophisticated contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, real estate litigation, employment-related business disputes, construction matters, professional liability claims, and other complex commercial cases. The role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to manage matters alongside experienced trial attorneys representing businesses, executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

Qualifications
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar in good standing
  • 3-7 years of substantive commercial or business litigation experience
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests, and substantive legal memoranda
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts state and federal court procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, competing deadlines, and client priorities effectively
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across practice groups
  • Experience conducting or defending depositions and participating in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, or trials is preferred
  • Federal court admission in Massachusetts is preferred
 
Responsibilities
  • Represent businesses, executives, professionals, and other clients in complex commercial disputes
  • Manage matters involving contracts, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate issues, construction claims, employment-related disputes, and professional liability
  • Draft complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, correspondence, and settlement documents
  • Conduct factual investigations, legal research, document review, and case analysis
  • Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and clients
  • Handle written discovery and prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Take and defend depositions based on experience and matter requirements
  • Appear in Massachusetts state and federal courts for conferences, hearings, and other proceedings
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, exposure, and resolution options
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings
  • Support trial preparation and assume meaningful responsibility during evidentiary hearings and trials
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's corporate, employment, real estate, and other business-focused practices
  • Maintain accurate time records and meet the firm's quality, productivity, and client-service expectations
