SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of Quality operations within an aerospace metal additive manufacturing (AM) environment. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this role manages Quality Engineering, inspection, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and personnel, supports the Quality Management System (QMS), drives product and process compliance, and leads corrective action, audit readiness, and continuous improvement activities. The Quality Manager works closely with the Materials Lab, Mechanical Testing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products meet AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal requirements.

The Quality Manager works closely with the Materials Lab, Mechanical Testing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products meet AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the Quality department, including Quality Engineering, inspection, and NDT personnel, to ensure products meet quality, integrity, functionality, drawing, specification, and customer requirements
- Supports the Director of Quality in implementing department priorities, staffing plans, quality standards, and cross-functional initiatives; provides routine status, risk, and performance updates and escalates significant quality issues in a timely manner
- Supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the site QMS with hands-on, working-level compliance to AS9100 and customer requirements; ensures assigned procedures, work instructions, records, and quality documentation remain accurate, current, and audit ready
- Analyzes customer, regulatory, drawing, specification, and contractual quality requirements and ensures applicable requirements are incorporated into internal procedures, inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and production processes
- Aligns process and inspection documentation with demonstrated process capabilities, ensuring work instructions, inspection methods, control plans, and acceptance criteria accurately reflect how the process is performed and controlled
- Plans, prepares for, and actively participates in AS9100, NADCAP, customer, internal, and regulatory audits, including NDT-related NADCAP audits; coordinates evidence collection, supports auditor requests, leads or assists RCCA responses, and drives assigned findings and corrective actions to timely closure
- Manages day-to-day NDT operations and personnel, ensuring NDT methods, procedures, approved practices, records, and inspection activities meet customer, NADCAP, regulatory, and internal requirements; ensures NDT personnel qualification and certification requirements are maintained and coordinates with the Director of Quality and responsible Level 3 personnel as required
- Provides technical leadership and support for Quality Engineering, inspection, and NDT activities, including interpretation of drawings, specifications, GD&T, inspection planning, measurement methods, NDT requirements, and acceptance criteria; develops or reviews detailed inspection instructions as needed
- Leads or supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new products and processes, including participation in design reviews and development and maintenance of PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection plans, and related quality planning documentation
- Conducts and/or oversees inspections and quality control checks; reviews inspection and test results, supports disposition recommendations, and ensures appropriate use of CMM, 3D scanning, and other measuring equipment for layout inspection and verification
- Coordinates the selection, qualification, calibration, and availability of product acceptance equipment, testers, gages, fixtures, and measurement systems needed to support inspection and product acceptance activities
- Programs and/or oversees programming and operation of CMM, 3D scanning, and other measurement equipment; supports layout inspection, GD&T verification, and generation of inspection reports and data packages including FAIR/AS9102, PPAP, ADP, and customer-required formats
- Develops, monitors, and reports quality metrics, levels, and trends; evaluates statistical data, recurring defects, escapes, rework, scrap, audit performance, and corrective action effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement
- Organizes, analyzes, and presents quality, inspection, audit, defect, and process-performance data to management to support risk assessment, prioritization, and decision making
- Leads investigation of product and process discrepancies and drives root cause and corrective/preventive action using structured problem-solving methods; supports capability studies, quality audits, process improvement activities, and other engineering evaluations utilizing Six Sigma methodology where appropriate
- Interacts with customers, suppliers, Engineering, Operations, and other functions to resolve design, development, production, inspection, and acceptance issues; supports customer inquiries, complaints, and quality concerns and ensures actions are implemented to prevent recurrence
- Supervises, coaches, and develops Quality Engineering, inspection, and NDT personnel; establishes expectations, provides feedback, supports training in quality tools, inspection methods, and applicable NDT requirements, promotes accountability and continuous improvement, and assists with other tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a technical or related field required
- Progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience leading or supervising Quality Engineering, inspection, NDT, or related quality functions
- Hands-on working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including day-to-day execution and maintenance of QMS processes and documentation
- Demonstrated experience actively participating in AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and/or internal audits, including preparation of objective evidence and corrective action follow-up; experience with NDT-related NADCAP requirements strongly preferred
- Experience implementing and maintaining NADCAP-accredited inspection processes and supporting compliance to applicable NDT and/or inspection requirements
- Working knowledge of aerospace quality planning and product acceptance tools, including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, AS9102 First Article Inspection, GD&T, and capability/statistical process control methods
- Hands-on experience with dimensional inspection and measurement systems, including CMM and/or 3D scanning, layout inspection, gage control, calibration, and generation of customer inspection data packages preferred
- Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency, compliance, responsiveness, and service excellence
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively
- Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at various levels across the company and customers
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with cross-functional groups
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and detail oriented
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Must be able to learn procedures quickly, manage competing priorities, and be a team player
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor and a polished professional appearance
- Knowledge of metal additive manufacturing processes and applicable aerospace material/process specifications a plus

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years quality systems experience within manufacturing required, including 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or management capacity; experience supervising or supporting NDT operations preferred
- Easily adapt to new organizations / technical environments
- Project management on small to medium projects
