Connect Staffing Solutions is hiring an experienced Quality Inspector for a heavy industrial manufacturing and forging environment in Houston, TX.

This is a hands-on production-floor position. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working around heavy equipment, large metal components, high temperatures, and physically demanding conditions.

Pay: $17.00–$24.00/HR DOE
Houston, TX 77015
Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Occasional Saturdays as needed

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector will inspect raw materials, forgings, machined products, manufacturing processes, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.

We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail and hands-on inspection experience who can confidently work in a demanding manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections
  • Inspect raw materials, forgings, machined products, and finished products
  • Perform Receiving, In-Process, Final, and First-Article inspections
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances
  • Use inspection and measuring equipment to verify dimensions
  • Identify defects and non-conforming products
  • Complete inspection documentation and reports
  • Document inspection results on work orders
  • Create NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when required
  • Communicate quality issues to production personnel
  • Help identify corrective actions to prevent recurring quality problems
  • Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records
  • Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Quality Management System procedures
QUALIFICATIONS

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 2+ years of Quality Inspection experience preferred
  • Experience with dimensional and visual inspection
  • Experience reading blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of measurements, tolerances, specifications, and materials
  • Experience with precision inspection tools
  • Forging, machining, steel, or heavy manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to identify defects and accurately document inspection results
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Good communication skills
IMPORTANT WORK ENVIRONMENT

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING:

This is a heavy industrial/forging manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with:

  • Working in high temperatures
  • Working around a heavy production/forging environment
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Bending, squatting, sitting, and moving around the production floor
  • Working around large/heavy metal products and industrial equipment
  • Wearing required PPE and following strict safety procedures

This is NOT a light-duty inspection position or office-only QC role.

ENTRY-LEVEL CANDIDATES

Candidates with less than 2 years of Quality Inspection experience may be considered if they have relevant manufacturing experience, understand measurements and specifications, can read drawings/blueprints, and are willing to learn.
