Direct Care Worker

A Direct Care worker will provide support in all areas of daily living as needed by individual. This may include lifting individuals, assisting in transferring, and moving wheelchairs. Demonstrates appropriate and safe techniques in assisting with personal hygiene and grooming. Follows basic infection control protocol. Demonstrates appropriate medication procedures. Support individuals in obtaining the goals he/she have envisioned and outlined in their Person Centered Plan. Enhance individual participation and involvement in his/her community. Where assistance is requested/required, support individual in making choices, advocate, for him/her in areas of needs and wants. Assist individuals in developing new relationships and supporting existing relationships. Follow basic on-call and emergency procedure.
