Dispatch Support

Overview

Expected to deliver superior customer service to drive organizational key results by executing delivery and operational support functions accurately and in a timely manner. Assists operations management and employees in improving operational efficiency. Acts as a liaison between sales, operations, and management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building efficient deliveries by combining orders into full loads
• Leverage our ODT software solution to assist in monitoring and managing the daily delivery and transfer processes
• Provides ODT data maintenance support to ensure accurate delivery information by utilizing maintenance reports to identify and then correct data issues
• Thorough and accurate processing of delivery invoices, credit orders, transfer transactions, and credit overrides, as needed
• Assist in proactive identification of delivery orders that may cause delay in the delivery process such as CODs, orders that are not paid in full, orders with unreceived products, and orders with out-of-stock product
• Use mapping programs to print delivery directions for drivers
• Assist in assigning orders to be staged
• Assist with business tracking to improve operational efficiencies
• Assist with strong and timely communication between sales, management, operations, and/or purchasing regarding substitutions, out of stock product, damaged or poor quality product, product that cannot be located, job site address corrections, poor job site conditions, refused deliveries, etc.
• Notify customers of deliveries
• Notify branches for deliveries
• Assist management with timecards and tracking driver time
• Cross train to assist with any dispatch function and with checking trucks for load accuracy

• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Required to sit up to 4 hours at a time
• Required to stand and walk up to 2 hours at a time
