Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced MRI examinations across brain, spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar), MSK joints, and body regions (abdomen, pelvis, chest); include vascular MRI/MRA/MRV as indicated.
- Prepare and administer contrast, establish IV access, and monitor patients for safe MRI exposure, following institutional safety protocols.
- Optimize MRI sequences and image quality; apply post-processing basics and utilize PACS for image transfer and reporting workflow.
- Adhere to EPIC charting requirements; document protocols, findings, and patient care activities accurately.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to maintain efficient patient throughput and appropriate patient positioning and safety.
- May float to other MRI coverage areas as needed; participate in orientation and ongoing training.
Requirements
- NY State license to practice in hand at start
- ARRT (R) certification and MRI specialty certification
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience (hard requirement)
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience
- Travel experience accepted; first-time travelers welcome
- Able to work in a hospital setting; strong patient care and safety focus
- Preferred: trauma Level I/II and community hospital experience; GE MRI experience
