Maintenance Mechanic
Pay: $33.47 per hour, plus shift differential
Location: Grandview, Washington
Union position
Welch's is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our Grandview plant running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the equipment used to make our food and beverage products.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with automated equipment, and keeping production moving.
ScheduleYou must be able to work first, second, or third shift. Your assigned shift may change based on plant needs.
First shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Second shift: 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., plus $0.45 per hour
Third shift: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., plus $0.60 per hour
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday. During harvest, workdays and hours may change based on production needs. Overtime may be available or required in four-hour blocks.
What You'll DoTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and processing equipment
Work with electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, motion controls, and mechanical systems
Complete preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and keep equipment running safely
Support refrigeration, boiler room, wastewater, building, and seasonal equipment
Work with operators and supervisors to identify and solve equipment problems
Set up and adjust production and seasonal equipment
Recommend changes that improve equipment safety, reliability, and performance
Follow all safety, food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements
At least three years of hands-on machine maintenance and repair experience in a food or beverage manufacturing facility
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
Experience working safely with complex, automated equipment
The ability to communicate clearly and work well with operators, technicians, and supervisors
The ability to work independently and take action when equipment needs attention
A strong record of safety and continuous improvement
The ability to work in a facility that is not temperature controlled
Flexibility to work any shift based on plant needs
Experience with Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
