Pay Rate:$68.00 - $74.00 per hour (W2 ONLY)

• • This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered • •
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Planning Engineer to join our Equipment Planning Group supporting paint department operations. This role is approximately 80% office-based and 20% shop-floor, requiring hands-on involvement in developing equipment specifications, managing projects, and supporting manufacturing equipment requirements, including materials handling systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing experience, practical knowledge of robotics and equipment maintenance, and the ability to execute, inspect, and validate manufacturing equipment and systems on site.
Responsibilities include supporting conveyor and paint line projects, planning equipment, creating and reviewing technical and inspection documentation, participating in on-site inspections, and performing quality checks to ensure equipment meets engineering and operational requirements.
The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate and plan automation robots and expansion projects including process and layout design, equipment specification, standardization across the NAMCs and lead time reduction.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Support evaluation of equipment project proposals, including process and equipment capability assessments
• Develop strategies and lead implementation for North American equipment deployment and standardization projects.
• Create presentations and reports to communicate project status and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Become an expert in multiple paint shop technologies and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve goals
• Develop standards and RJs for the new technologies and improve gentani for equipment specifications, including CoHE compliance and cross NAM standardization
• Develop standards and improve specifications for equipment, ensuring CoHE compliance and cross-NAM standardization
• Lead specifications, and development processes
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years manufacturing experience, practical knowledge of robotics and maintenance, and the ability to execute and inspect equipment and systems on site.
• 2+ years of project management experience
• Experience creating A3 and/or Ringi documents for equipment procurement
• Experience with CAD or similar modeling software
• Experience with spec development
• Ability to identify project constraints and develop effective countermeasures
• Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience in a engineering or technical role
Other Requirements:
• 30%: Travel - Domestic
• 15%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
• PPE: Will wear Steel Toed Shoes/Hard Hat and Safety Glasses
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Conveyor experience and knowledge
• MSRC and or Machine Risk Analysis Experience
• Experience with new model introduction processes
• Experience with paint shop booths, ovens, abatement systems, air houses, and enclosures
• Experience in equipment maintenance
• Experience in automation and/or robot programming
• Experience with vision system evaluation, programming, and use cases
• Bilingual: English/Spanish/Japanese
