Brake Press Operator

Proman Staffing looking for a Direct Hire Brake Press Operator for our client that is a creator of on-site customized tagging solutions in Charlotte, NC.

We are looking for a Detail -oriented, service focused, press operator.

Brake Press Operator Summary:

A press operator will perform complex printing jobs, including set-up and troubleshooting for each job.  The press operator will produce products in a highly efficient manner  to the highest possible quality standards.

Brake Press Operator Responsibilities:

Operate, set-up, and trouble shoot flexographic printing presses and auxiliary equipment, all in accordance with production standards and productivity goals. Utilizing product specs (copy card), changing plates, cylinders, and dies.

• Maintain machines by performing basic maintenance including lubricants, replace minor parts, and requests major maintenance when necessary.
• Maintain work area utilizing 5S methods.
• Report machine and equipment malfunction immediately to the group leader, maintenance and/or supervisor.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Crosstrain and work multiple press lines and equipment as needed.
• Quality Control: Follow all quality inspection plans. This involves measuring, checking, and testing various processes and product parameters. Meet established goals for material scrap and yield.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with all plant leadership and departments such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics to coordinate production activities, address technical issues, standardize processes, and optimize supply chain processes.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Support all continuous improvement initiatives as required via participation and or implementation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by floor or plant leadership.

Brake Press Operator Qualifications:

·       Ability to perform basic math functions and use a ruler is a must

·       Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to communicate effectively

·       The ability to focus on objects, have good vision and be able to differentiate colors as determined by color blindness testing.

·       Strong mechanical aptitude needed.
